It's been a while since the last TTYD remix, I always thought this is cool boss fight and apparently the Switch version sounds heavier which explains why it got a GaMetal remix!

The Thousand-Year Door and Origami King are ripe with remixing/cover potential. Being a side series, it's not often I hear them, but it's all the more amazing when they do come out.

Vid 1: iirc I'm pretty sure you're encouraged to suggest vgm that you could cover in the future so I'm just gonna do that with every new vid until either Alice in Wonderland/Grimoire of Alice (I personally would love these two as a mashup (think the Cossack stages cover) and would personally want these two the most compared to the other two), Idolatrize World, OR Where is That Bustling Marketplace Now from the Touhou Project franchise gets covered. I do not plan on just asking for them on every video however, but instead I'll make a different suggestion that makes sense within the video's context. Doing this in hopes that one of the three mentioned pieces of music is recognized and the one that Jonny likes the most gets picked for a cover. Since this is Paper Mario I'll 100% recommend The Dual-Bladed Duelist from Paper Mario: The Origami King. Reason I recommend: one of the best boss themes in the entire franchise and it's one that would benefit IMMENSELY from GaMetal. The only Origami King cover is the King Olly Battle Medley which makes sense, but I believe the other Origami King boss themes actually have even more potential and would be really cool to hear covered. This one has a really sick build up that has a ton of different parts (some that honestly sound like circus music lol), then it climaxes at around 0:54, then it kinda keeps a similar intensity after 1:06, and then it settles down for a sec at around 1:30 but keeps the beat going just for it to go back up in intensity on the loop. A real epic piece for one that you hear while fighting a pair of scissors. I feel like most of the sounds hit real good but there's an instrument here or there that sounds like it could be better. Something about this cover: I think Cortez's theme is a fine theme, I prefer most of the other boss themes from TTYD though (Bowser's theme is probably the best Bowser fight theme in any Mario game lol). This cover definitely made it better and more enjoyable in my ears however and I love that voice synthesizer (reminds me of Delay Lama loll). In the future, I'll just post a suggestion and why I suggest it, my thoughts on the cover that I'm commenting on, and the names of the three pieces that are my goal. I'll only stop if I'm ever told to by GaMetal or if I feel discouraged and give up, my intent is not to be annoying and force a GaMetal cover but to do what I recall is heavily encouraged: just giving ideas for a future cover. Hopefully I'll be there in the next cover of what seems to be The Battle of Lil' Slugger from Super Meat Boy :)

It's awesome you did the victory outro at the end. It's really cool they have those, ever since Origami King. Ever since Yoshito Sekigawa (formerly Hirano) returned to Paper Mario, he's been cooking. He also did a great job playing the guitar in this remake.

I, for one, am hoping there are more Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door covers, especially since the remake REALLY loves using the electric guitar in a lot of its battle themes!

I love that you included some of the xylophone-sounding stuff from the original battle theme, as cool as the remake’s battle theme was, I was disappointed that this aspect of Cortez’s theme was downplayed.

I'm playing through the remake right now, which is also my first experience with TTYD outside of its soundtrack. Hopefully, Cortez lives up to the hype, if this banging arrangment is anything to go by.

The boss fight that made me scream from getting Merlee’s Double Star Point Quirk, all just by throwing a freaking Egg Missile. Gotta love when that happens.
